Hi
I am a 15 yr old girl who needs some advice. My Mom has has never had an injury and almost about 2 years ago my mom started to get this really bad pain. She has been to MAYO health clinic and has received nerve blocks but nothing works. Our local doctor told her it might be RSD. I have been reading articles about it and it does sound like my moms pain. I am really scared from the stories. My mom's syptoms are a marble colored pattern on the top of her right leg and some coloring on the left! Undescrible pain in her groin all the way down to her foot. She feels pain in her left side sometimes as well. She is currently taking Neurontin while waiting to see a doctor who will test her for RSD. I was wondering is there a way mom can control this pain. Does Neurontin help for RSD? I need some feedback. Please feel free to e-mail me with suggestions on drugs she can take or tests she can have done or whatever will help her get better. Thanx for your time

Hi,
I think that my grandma might possibly have RSD. She also has very similar (if not exactly the same) symptoms as is described in what I have read about RSD. I am not certain if my grandma has been tested for RSD yet but I am trying to find out. She IS taking neurontin with some success but she IS still in considerable pain much of the time.

Take CARE and God Bless! David

I have rsd in my left foot and thigh. i take neurontin--as well as oxycontin, darvocet, muscle relaxers and ibruprofen. my pain management dr raises the dosage of neurontin each month and it does help a little. i go to pt 3 days a week, have had a series of nerve blocks, and use a TENS unit at home.
